Ukrainian Catholic Women's League of Canada (UCWLC)
An organization for developing and enriching the religious and spiritual life of each of its member in the context of Ukrainian Catholic Church, its liturgy, theology, spirituality and its practices and traditions. It is to preserve the Ukrainian language, cultural heritage and cultivate Ukrainian traditions. It is meant to broaden the moral understanding and deepen the sense of civic responsibility among the members. It is to initiate and support social action programs, which exemplify Christian ideals and values of justice and love, particularly those related to the sanctity of human life and the sacredness of the family. Also, to participate in service to persons and society, in works of mercy to the poor and sick, works of charity and mutual aid intended to relieve human needs of every kind, as well as assistance to groups and communities. Membership in the organization is available to all women of the Ukrainian Catholic Church and consists of a spiritual advisor. There are approximately 1225 members in the organization. The organization was established in June of 1944.
